The Ultimate US Road Trips

One of the greatest things about America is the ability to plan the ultimate road trip across the states. Depending on how long you have, you could make a week-long trip that takes in the Las Vegas Strip, go from west coast to east coast if you have a lot of time to kill, or if you fancy some beach action, head to the California coastline. With many different cultures to explore, and every state almost different to the next, the US is perfect for diversity.

For the adventurers within, we have rounded up some of the top routes in the US for the ultimate road trip:

California State Route 1 – If you want to see the best of the west coast, the California State Route 1 is the one for you. Starting off from San Diego, you then pass through LA, Long Beach, Santa Monica, Malibu, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, Big Sur, San Francisco and the Point Reyes National Seashore. This route can offer a lot of fun, and amazing sights.

Route 66 – The most famous road in the world, which is so notorious, they even make t-shirts about it! This route originally spanned an awesome 2,451 miles and ran all of the way from Chicago to Santa Monica. Over time, some parts of the highway have been taken away to give way to other roads and private property. If you want a mix of American culture, Route 66 is the greatest and most iconic US road trip. Running from Chicago, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and finally Santa Monica.

Route 20 – Fancy going coast to coast? This 3,365 mile route will take a while, but you will get to see some of the best that the US has to offer. Starting off at Newport in Oregon, you will then hit Atlantic City, New Jersey, Nevada, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New York and Massachusetts.

Interstate 10 – If you want to have a bit more of the sunshine then the Interstate 10 offers the most southern coast-to-coast route. The route starts in Santa Monica on the California coast before taking you through Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and ending in sunny Jacksonville in Florida.

When you are planning the ultimate US road trip, then make sure you travel in style. You could hire out a Cadillac or even find a used Ferrari at a good price from trusted luxury dealerships. If you wish to save money, invest in an RV and scrap the hotels and hostels between stops.

If a road trip sounds idyllic to you, then the United States have everything that you need. The only problem you may find yourself posed with is deciding which route to take. If you do not have a year to do all of them, then make sure you still have enough time to drink in the sights you will encounter. Whichever route you choose, make sure you get the ultimate car to take you on your ultimate road trip. It’ll make those memories even more worthwhile.
