The number of cars in Cuba is quite special nobody doubts, Soviet and American cars of the 50s are most seen on the island. However, not everyone knows what is hidden gems out there, abandoned, like the Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing shown in the picture.
He was found by a trip to the island by photographer Pitor Degler, whose main mission of the expedition was to give the gullwing. They had already told him that this racing legend was lost by Cuba, and finally got to find him for inclusion as instant on the calendar to 2015 she was preparing.
The status of the 300 SL is unfortunate, almost rotting, and forming part of the weed itself, in the shade of a banana. It lacks the engine, various body parts and is almost completely rotted. A restoration starting from this base would be almost impossible, a task with many years and working hours.
But certainly endearing to see a car like that in such a curious snapshot. But given the few units left alive of gull wings around the world, we would be very pleased to know that a collector was made with him and could be brought back to life .
